Bands

Postby Swanson34 » Tue Jan 03, 2017 8:46 pm

Delilah seems to have a very odd band number, how can I go about finding more about it? I've searched in the data bases online and can't seem to find anything at all. I'd like to know more about where she came from. Thanks!

since there were no legal requirements for banding or any standard systems developed for keeping records to track the bands, the information that can be found is often very sketchy if anything can be found at all. For this reason most of us just use them for the year of birth numbers on them. The solid bands can only be put on during a very limited time frame.

Aren't there any letters on it? Because, usually, you find the breeders ID (normally three letters but it can be four) and the year the bird was born (normally etched across the band and just the two last digits of it) as well as the number that identifies the individual bird. If you tell us exactly what the band says, we might be able to shed some light on it...

The only thing on Delilahs band is J&T MO 002.
The MO is sideways
