Postby Cozzy » Tue May 04, 2010 12:10 pm

During usual gathering on Sunday my :budgie: flew away at around 1300.....
We did a few search during on Sunday.......We could not find her.....
I conducted another search on Monday, before the sun raise......
At 0550 in the morning we found her somewhere nearby.....
The whole story is too long......
Just want to share the joy with you guys.

So glad that you found her! That's so lucky that you got her back, they're so small! I can't imagine finding a lost budgie in my house, sounds impossible to find one outside!

Give it lots of millet and water to recover. Unless your home is really warm, you may want to add some supplemental heating as well to help it recover.

How did she get away? Might be worthwhile to tell the story of how she escaped and how you recovered her so others can learn from it.

On last Sunday, at our parrot club gathering, at 4/F of a building :budgie: flew away when I am putting on the special harness on her, because one of our friend tried to grip her and scared her away...
Off she flew, she tried to fly back to me for a few times.......flying around and around.....she just couldn't fly back because of the wind.....
As Hong Kong is a place full of building......the chance of recovering a tiny bird is impossible
Also, we have a lot of hawks.
we went to search her for a few time during the day.....and I search around with another :budgie: during the evening. We couldn't find her.
I took a day off on Monday, I started searching with my friends and a few :budgie: at 0500, the sun rising time was 5050....The location is a 30-40mins away from home.
We search tree by tree, after a around 30mins we found her on a tree, around 9 feet tall.....
I called her and she flew back to me.....
