Isn't that something? They can actually recognize individual songs of other species that live with them or nearby.

When my cockatiel, Bubba, got loose Sweetie was all alone and calling to him. A male red bird befriended her and spent a lot of time on the banister outside the sunroom where Sweetie was. They communicated and Sweetie even picked up some of his language.
