There are upsides and downsides to your video going viral - the upside is there is a higher chance that people who didn't know about you and your training videos see them now. Downside would be all the idiots and the stupid comments.

But wow...1mil views already? Congrats Michael! Hopefully even just a few of those views are people who will now work on training and building a better relationship with their bird(s)!

One of the biggest reasons I'm upset about people copying the video and it being seen not from the source is that interested viewers cannot get more information. Not only are they missing links to blog/forum, but they cannot see my other training videos or ask questions. I worry that someone (as the result of seeing this) might actually go out and buy a parrot! I've already talked several people out of it in my youtube comments but there's nothing I can do if they see it elsewhere. The video shows a parrot performing tricks for 2 minutes. It does not shoe the other 23 hours and 58 minutes of living with a feisty, messy little parrot. I mean it's nice to get credit for it but I think the worst part is that people who'd like to see/learn more won't be able to if they find this video on those other sites that copied it.

Your video is featured on MSN.ca today. The link directs you to MSN.com's viral videos.

And you're right to be worried about people wanting to go out and buy a parrot after seeing it. Two of the comments were "this is why I want a parrot" and "Wow. This makes me want one of those parrots, but I know I'd never be able to find the motivation to train it like that." At least the second person realizes that it takes a lot of training.

good point Michael, they don't see the behind the scenes of having to clean the bottom of a cage or dealing with fresh food clean ups.... not to mention that no bird is predictable! every birds personality is different and not all birds can keep their focus on training.
