Well I have the results back from the DNA test for my birds.

Noodle is a female. So I guess I'm going to have to get used to calling him her.

Marvin is a male so not a lot of change for him.

At least we know now!

Well congratulations. And good thing it was a gender in-specific name. Unfortunately you gotta deal with nesting/egg laying behaviors. But fortunately the females are somewhat less aggressive and less intense chewers.

Marvin is teaching Noodle new sounds! For being a female Noodle sure vocializes a lot!! ( I don't mind I love it! )

I'll have to do research on female senegal nesting behaviors! I don't think it'll be too bad. (hopefully!)

Seriously though, my suspicions were brought after having been around multiple Sennies and seeing slight differences between genders.

Not all females will lay eggs. And they might have nesty behaviours at times, males also have a reaction to hormones that can be as bad.
As for wood chewing..I don't think it's necessarily gender specific as much as it is different for each bird. I'm 95% sure Shade is a female and she's been chewing wood like crazy lately.

I think wood chewing would be worse in a female since they have to make a nest and whatnot.
Oh well. She's as sweet as ever!
