I hate to be advertising, but I can't google a pic like this and I would love to know what bird is on the cover?

Thank you

I suppose someone who has the issue could read the caption on the cover?

Could be a Greater Vasa parrot... I'll go look.

Nope, I'm wrong. There is also a black Lorikeet. I'm stumped.

This one is tough. I've been combing the internet with no luck... so I emailed a friend of mine who is an apprentice to Barbara Heidenreich and hopefully she will know what it is and get back to me soon. I'll let you know what she says.

She says it's a Vasa so maybe it's a Lesser Vasa also known as a Seychelles Black Parrot?

I thought it couldn't be a Vasa because of the red on it's breast so I think she is wrong... those are red feathers aren't they?

With lots of dedication! I was determined to find it! Oh and some luck!

I just did lots of google image searches until I found this pic:

Which took me to this page with the name http://www.birdlife.org/datazone/species/index.html?action=SpcHTMDetails.asp&sid=1447

The odd thing is, knowing the sort of search terms I used, it seems harder to work out how I found it :?
