Pesquet's are gorgeous, one of the Earth's most beautiful creatures, in my eyes. Here are two of my favorite pictures, taken by a member on another forum I frequented a few years back. It must be amazing to see them in the flesh. Enjoy!

They are impressive looking. Don't think I've ever heard of them nor seen pictures of them before!

They hardly look like a parrot. The beak definitely does not resemble a typical hook bill.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something that looked like that guarding the gates to hell!

Did you look to see what the actual links to the photos are? Because the first picture I posted was actually named "Evil Guardians". I thought that was pretty neat if it was just a coincidence and you didn't look.

I didn't look at the caption FWIW. I don't know if I'd say evil, but diabolical rather fits.

Seriously. The entire head looks much more like a vulture or something than a parrot.

They are also known as the Vulturine Parrot.

Oddly, wikipedia, the site of untruths has:

Pesquet's Parrot (Psittrichas fulgidus) also known as the Vulturine Parrot (leading to easy confusion with Pyrilia vulturina from Brazil)

But then you click Pyrilia vulturina and it says The Vulturine Parrot (Pyrilia vulturina), not to be confused with Pesquet's Parrot (Psittrichas fulgidus)

So is the Pesquet's also the Vulturine? :?
