For those who have been asking about my parrot stands, here is a sneak peak at the website I have coming up about them. The site is totally incomplete but it is possible to pay for the stands through paypal and I can make you some if you are ready to buy. For anyone that has been asking about them, you don't really need to wait till the site is done because it's basically just going to talk about the merits of having them (which you probably already know if you've been reading my blog or forum).

As I finish up that site, anyone that has any additional questions please ask here and I may be able to incorporate that into an FAQ or my design of that website. Once I get the stands selling, I'll consider making slides and other props available as well.

Feel free to take a look and let me know if you have any ideas for the site. Anyone who is handy with tools, you may be able to figure out from the pictures how to make these yourself. If you would rather make them yourself, feel free but I'd appreciate it if you could refrain from sharing it with others as I've spent a lot of time and money working these stands out and making them ready to sell.

I decided to make the price 2x for $149.99 but now it includes shipping anywhere in the US. If you are outside the US and want some, we're going to have to work it out on a case by case basis when I find out how much the shipping is. I'll credit you the US part and then just charge whatever the international balance is (assuming there are no export duties or problems). Ultimately I decided to up the price a bit (and while it sounds a lot more than the original price, it isn't that much more cause it includes shipping) so that I could afford to use the best components for everything and not end up cutting any corners in order to be able to keep this profitable. The kit isn't explained on the website yet but essentially I'm going to be throwing in a clicker, target stick, and dvd about training.

I already have a perch that works fine for me but I'm definitely interested in other training props. I would buy a slide (unless I eventually got around to making one, like I did with the perch...) and if you made more training props I'd consider those too. Just wondering though, are you going to have the option to buy only one stand? since not everyone will have flighted birds (I'm guessing) who buy the stands it might be worth while to have the option.

I may likely do that but they will have to be like 60% of the cost of two. Good point though.

If shipping and duties weren't so much to ship up to Canada I'd be interested in a set. For now (an on a student budget) I'm looking at making a single stand from a few things I found at yard sales. Just have to see how they work out.Maybe after I'm done school and start my flight training with Tobi I'll order a set. But like the others....I'm VERY interested as well in other training props!

$150!? That's a bit too much....
I've been looking for a simple training stand but that's way more than any I've seen. There's a guy on CL selling ones for $30. I think I'll go with those.

For everyone that was interested in purchasing Parrot Training Perches, they are finally available. Here is a blog article I wrote about them. And here is the website from which you can purchase:

http://ParrotWizard.com/Training_Perches

For now I am only selling in continental US but as soon as I can figure out what shipping would be to Canada and other parts, I will let you all know. The website is still a work in progress so if anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me know. Stay tuned for more training supplies coming soon.

ou might want to add on the end of the video your only shipping to the cont. US to avoid confusion from viewers since I *know* you have global viewers!

I gasped when Truman did the recall - good job Michael!! I really hope Tobi is a quick study as well but with my luck he is going to frustrate me to no ends

I would like to open up shipping to some locations in Canada (cause I know like half of this forum is Canadian and shutting out Canada would put off a lot of people from buying these).

For now, for forum members only, I will ship to Ontario and Quebec at no extra charge (in lieu of some extras I was promising to throw in for forum members). So if anyone in Canada is interested in purchasing a set of stands, let me know your postal code before you order so that I could confirm that I can take on the cost of shipping to that location.
