Second 'shop of horrors' animal testing lab in Germany has closed down! One more to go!

Parrot traders facing jail and fines for dying feathers and beaks and falsifying documents - but the question that begs asking is why is their license not revoked?!
https://www.dutchnews.nl/news/2020/02/b ... t-colours/'Tiger King' is going to jail for trying to have an animal rights activist killed (among other stuff like fraud, tax evasion, animal cruelty, etc). What people do not understand is that there is something basically wrong with all hunters: they not only lack empathy but they find pleasure in violence and have a need to prove their supremacy (why else would they enjoy killing a defenseless animal?) so it's never only just the hunting, there is always more...
There is also a petition for the protection of all big cats at the end of the article.

BUT I confirmed this year what I had a strong hunch about last year: it's not representative of rescue dogs (WAAAAYYYYY too many purebreds in it) and the judges were not really judging for the actual category because the ones that won were not the 'best' at it. One example: the Special Needs category was won by a three legged little terrier mix. Now, he was ADORABLE but if you are going to be judging special needs, a three legged dog really does not really have any, they can do everything a four legged dog can and you will be surprised how fast they get adopted! While, another contestant, a blind and deaf dachshund had super duper special needs but its owner, a deaf woman, had taught it to recognize 18 different commands by touch - and did not win! As to the purebreds... yes, they deserve rescue just as much as the lowliest, ugliest, Heinz 57 mutt BUT they are only 25% of all the rescue dogs, hardly ever euthanized, have breed-specific rescues that mostly work with foster homes and always find a home because they have waiting lists for them. But, of all the dogs shown on the show, 95% of them were purebred! That's not fair! I love it that they are all about adoption but do show the poor, ugly, neglected mutts that end up spending months and sometimes years in a shelter and bloom into wonderful, loving animals under the care of their forever family. Now, that would convince people to adopt from Animal Control and other kill shelters - not showing a passel of pretty, healthy purebreds for which their new family had to wait 6 months to get. Mind you, this does not 'cover' the purebreds that come out of labs or puppy mills - those are as desperate for a good home as the ones in the shelters!
