Today, lots and lots of feel good pictures - 'cause we all need a little of that in these trying times.
Photos of dogs with their new owners. And, for people that are thinking of adopting or fostering, please don't discard the old timers. They are much, much easier than younger animals - calm, usually already trained, very, VERY grateful for a second chance and soooo eager to please! And not necessarily in need of medical attention. My last rescue is Sofia, a 15 year old pocket pitbull, and she is the sweetest thing! Clean as a whistle, obedient, very calm, gets along with the other dogs, loves people and learned the entire daily routine in a few days (she now waits anxiously her turn for the treats -she must have never had any before because she did not take them the first two days). She had her vaccines, deworming, tested negative for heartworm and her senior blood panel results were perfectly normal - only thing is she needs her teeth cleaned but that will have to wait until the coronavirus thing is over. The ONLY problem we have with her is that she goes after the cats -which is normal for pitbulls that did not grow up with them because they have a very high prey drive- but she is already learning what "Leave it alone!" means and all I have to do is tell her she is a 'Bad girl!" in a stern tone of voice for her to slink away with a contrite look on her face. Give them a chance... you will be surprised how happy you will be with a senior dog.
