Growing up we had a boxer- best dog ever. Always had a couple of cats, fish tanks- anything from turtles to fish. I had every kind of rodent or fuzzy critter there is to have. Bunnies, hamsters, rats, gerbils, ferrets etc. Budgies a few times too.

As an adult I've always had a couple of cats, all strays or rehomes. Right now I just have my 9 year old silver tiger tabby Whitley. We have a 50 gallon tropical tank, my oldest has a beta in a tank, and we have Juniper (quaker) and Kokomo (lovie aka MEANIE)

In the last two months we lost both of our cockatiels. So, so, so sad. I miss having a tiel around and am desperate for another.

I've currently got a 2.5 year old male ball python(Lady Loreal 'Lipstick' aka Apocalypstick). For a bit, I was a little bit of a waystation for unwanted reptiles with 2 ball pythons, a redtail boa, and a bearded dragon. I've never owned a mamalian pet, however... Unless you count my ex-husband.

My son has mutation ball pythons. He rescued a sink skinny retickulated python and nursed it back to health. (Have you ever seen a fat snake? It was when he finished with it.) Yes, he finished with it when it kept striking him after it was well. We are in NC but he found a woman in NY to take him.

Yeah, the boa I took care of for months was a reak striker. I rehomed her to an experienced snake keeper, who rehomed her to a professional because she was too much for him to handle. But she came from a home of severe abuse with a tank far too small for her and a handler who didn't know what he was doing... She actually came to me with mites(so much fun to treat three snakes and their tanks at one time). But at least she's happy and healthy now.

The one Chuck took in was about to be thrown in the trash. I could see every bone in it's body. It had mites and sores from being bit by other snakes in the tank. Chuck took care of it and fed it good. It was fat when he found someone who understood the breed.
