Right Now:

Jacko (female timneh grey)
Sully (male cockatiel)

In the past (including when I was a kid)

-a few cats
-too many dogs to remember of all shapes and sizes
-budgies
-bunnies
-turtles
-ball pythons
-bearded dragons
-freshwater tropical fish (everything from the monster SA cichlids to puffers, discus and arowana)

I'm debating however setting up for a mexican redknee tarantula when money is good again :D
:gray: ---Jacko (13 year old TAG rescue and my little turkey-bird girl :) )

Before my current flock, I had a lovebird and a budgie. The lovebird was 8 years old, and was my step-grandmother's, she gave her to me as a gift. However, she passed away after two weeks in my care. My parents felt bad, so they bought me a budgie. However, he escaped from his cage when I was gone for a weekend, and crashed into the door, and died. After that, I swore I would never buy a bird again (thankfully, I did end up opening my heart to some feathered friends :D)

I've had various gold fish and beta fish.

I had a cat, but she now lives with my grandparents.

I had two horses, a quarter horse and a retired thoroughbred, but we sold the property, so we had to sell them.

Right now I have a shih tzu/ Japanese Chin.

And the Holstein calves.

Unless you count my ex-husband.

iv always loved bearded dragons but we have one at work so im not going to get one as a pet :)

I love beardies! I've always wanted one, or a fat tailed gecko. Unfortunately my husband hates reptiles of all kinds and is scared of birds, so I had to compromise and only get one, and of course I picked birds ;) .

Right now I'm in love with teacup (mini) pigs. They're absolutely adorable! Not sure if they have any health problems or what their life expectancy is now that they've been bred to such a small size. I was told 'No more pets!' by my husband so I stopped researching them. :(

I thought about getting a monkey once, until I realized how messy they are (I know, birds are messy, but at least they don't throw their own poop!). Also, the town I live in doesn't allow any non-human primates according to the animal by-law. We also can't have anything in the order crocodylia or any venomous or constrictor snakes. Guess I'll never be getting a pet alligator!

Those "mini" pigs, are only "mini" when they are little. They are vietnamese pot-bellied pigs.

But they do make fantastic pets. A lot of people even say they are smarter than dogs. They are extremely clean, and can be taught numerous tricks.

The one issue I have with them, is the biting.

One day I'd love to have one, though I'd probably keep it in a barn.

The breeder I saw on Tyra Banks' show said hers max out at 15lbs - 45lbs. She said they're smarter than dogs, almost as smart as dolphins. I didn't think of the biting!

They continue growing until the age of 4-5. They grow to over 100 pounds.

There's a lot of false information out there.

I wouldn't say they are close to the intelligence level of a dolphin.

http://www.teacuppig.info/pigtures.html Here's a link to what micro pigs really grow up to be.

Here's a good video about them: http://vimeo.com/3341719

I grew up with a terrier mutt and our family later adopted two more mutts. We also had snails and rats for a while. I don't like cats very much. I hope to get another dog someday when I'm more settled. If I could have any other kind of animal, it would be a gorilla, but obviously that's never going to happen so I'll stick to birds.

As far as non-songbirds go, I've always loved ducks and wanted one for a pet. Geese too. Maybe someday.
