Maybe this is too corny/cheesy/lame but I think a cute name for a Caique could be Tigger, after the very hyper cartoon tiger. :P But maybe it's more for a boy? I'm not sure. Give it time! :P

Jack, Bailey and Kiri came with their names. They are rehomes.

I named Babylon because I was listening to the David Grey song, "Babylon". I usually listen to words to figure out what the song is about and I just couldn't figure out what that song is about...(I still don't know) but I started saying "Babl-on" and thought...What a great name for a parrot! Babble-On

Phinney is named after Phileus Fogg from Around the World in 80 Days. My husband is a captain so I figured if we ever took a boat around the world, we would take her. At that time, we lived on Phinney Avenue so we were playing around with words and came up with "Phinneous Fowl"...and that stuck....If I ever got a cockatoo, I was going to call it "Passport-Too".....Not getting a cockatoo though!

Just to add my story...

Harley is a harlequin macaw.

Thatr is a very common name for this type of macaw but his former parent was named David so I always thought Harley - David's son.

I told the guy this and he laughed and said he never thought of that connection.

We have a Harlequin at the shop I work at. I call her Quinn. Perhaps Harley and Quinn should hang out someday! :D

My Senegal is named Pippin... the poor little caique is still nameless! I can't decide on anything.

Have you tried looking on the internet? There are some sites with lists of parrot names but the downside is if you choose a name directly from there it might not be so original. :?

Oh, I've done extensive name searching... that's not the problem. The problem is I can't make a decision. Right now the options are Prudence (Pru) from the Beatles song, Clarice from Silence of the Lambs, Esme from Terry Pratchetts witches, Buffy as in the Vampire Slayer, Eloise from Lost and maybe Clementine. My husband really likes Matilda.

I really like Esme, Clarice, and Buffy! Good luck choosing, it can be so hard sometimes!

Ok this may take a bit. We will start with the pets birds.
There is Pugzy-Butt, the green cheek conure I found her on birdbreeders website. Well fell in love with im guessing a clutchmate of hers. the website said she had a great personality and i had one of those feelings so we drive about 3 hours to get to her. Get there and this bird is bitting the dickens out of my hand. There is no way we would be shouldering this bird. But im stubborn and was still going to get this bird unless the breeder offered to take out a few others and see if we could get a better match. He brought pugzy out and another bird. He said he felt these birds were not as well trained but we agreed that this was a deal where that bird i went up to see was not ment to be my bird. So im playing with these other birds and they are very good. One was a bit shy but still a good bird. One was extreamly cuddly. That bird came home. We named that bird Cuddle-Bug. Our son was 3 1/2 and the english language was avoiding him at that point in his life. So he called her Pugzy-Butt. By the way, I still recomend that breeder.

Then Jazz, :senegal: the senegal, came with her name but im not sure if she will keep it.

Ok now to the breeder birds.

My Sun Conures are Fred and Wilma

Green Cheek Conures are Skyler and Sadie and then there is Sugar and Night

Quaker Parrots :quaker: are Shrek and Fionia

Parrotlets are Howie, he came with that name, and Manda-belle, we named her get it haa haa

Then the cockatiels, :cockatiel:

casper and shadow- casper is all white and shadow is a whiteface cinnamon pied, she looks like she has shadows

elvis and penelope Elvis is fairly cocky so his was attitude, i dont know about penelope

Lemon and sophie lemon is a lutino and sophie was fairly dainty and sweet so sophie fit her

stormy and snowy stormy is a very dark gray whiteface so he looks like storm clouds Snowy is another all white

apple and pearl apple said something the whole first week and we couldnt figure it so he got apple cause thats what it kinda sounded like, then pearl is a pearl

chicken and teeny chicken is a normal pearl and so i think she looks kinda like a chicken and teeny i dont know i was running out of names

Klinger and Sunny these are my babies. Klingers clutch was my M*A*S*H crew. they all had mash names Sunny was my flower children. They all were flower names and so Sunny was for sunflower.

Then there is Yam :hatched: and following him is :hatching: :hatching: and :hatching: They are parrotlet babies. one will be named turkey because i should have one hatch out on turkey day. So he will be turkey. Yes all my babies have a theme.

Ok that would be it.
