LOL...well, you won't quite be free...but it is nice to not have them dependent on you for everything.

My youngest is also 15...starting Grade 10 this fall. One more year of chauffering him around. Since we live in the country, it's a major relief just when they can drive themselves to school for things like basketball practice.

He's also supposed to start saving for a car...while I'm willing to lend ours out, I'm not willing to hand it over...

However, he has strange ideas about saving money...somehow it incorporates a lot of spending...

maybe you could look into working for a zoo(or volunteer 1 day a week) where u get to care for the birds and get the satisfaction from them without actually buying them :) if i didn't work at franklin zoo with all the birds i dont think i would go to pet stores and breeders without wanting all of them! but i get the satisfaction from the ones at the zoo so i can safely go to breeders and know i wont want to take them home :)
