Looking for anyone who might be looking for an intern??

Postby Sarah:) » Thu Jul 15, 2010 12:13 am

Hey everyone! :)

So I am new to this forum, I recently got two baby green cheek conures and I just adore them.
My twin sister is taking one when she goes to collage this fall.
I am writing this for any bird aviary owners out there...
I am looking to possibly intern some where to learn more about birds and how you raise them, ect...
I am looking into possibly breeding but not only that I think it would be a great opportunity to learn these things.
I would work for food and board.
Looking mostly for a family that would be willing to teach me the ropes.
Also looking for September-Beginning of December.
So about three months.

If you are or you know of anyone who might be interested in something like this please reply!
Thanks! :)

I really don't know how you'd pursue a goal like this. You could try calling around at bird rescues and sanctuaries who might need help.

I second this....also it is hard to try and help if we don't know where you live...
I doubt many aviarys out there are seeking employees as most are small (do the work themselves/family) and the large ones are "mill" style & I highly doubt you'd want to learn anything from them.

Again,we'd need to know where you live to really offer any help with this (find someone local).
Check in with your local bird club and see if anyone there can help you out?

I live in Colorado, near Glenwood Springs Colorado
But all of the big breeders are from the Denver area.
So thats why I'm interested in a intern type thing.
Also I've never really looked up the bird club in my area...
how do you find it?
