Poicephalus Forum

Postby Michael » Tue Jul 27, 2010 8:52 pm

So between my Cape Parrot, Brittany's Senegal, Ivzer's Red Belly, Natacha's Meyers, and Pchela's Jardine... it seems the owners of this forum represent all Poicephalus Parrots bred in captivity short of the Ruppells. Who's up for getting one?

LOL - didn't a member from Canada recently say that they were getting a Ruppells?

I'll be happy to provide photos and information on the Jardine's! (and a Red Belly and Senegal if needed)

Yeah, you'd better not even think about it. You've reached your limit.

Yep. No more babies for me.

That's okay... I'm sure the three I have will keep me plenty busy. With the research I've been doing on Jardine's, it seems I might have my hands full when he comes out of his shell.

I would really like to at least see a Ruppells in person though.

I have acually been thinking about it, I like most poicephalus parrots and I am pretty sure I want one so... if it happens it will not be until at least september to posibly december, but I would be glad to contribute. :)

You forgot to mention brown head parrots. Does anyone own one?

I also find it weird that I get labelled with the Meyer's given I had my Senegal for much longer (going on 5 years now) as well as my first Red-bellied (going on 3 years).

If someone else had had a Meyer's, what would my name have been associated with?

You're expendable cause you have a variety of Pois. It's not a formal label, just lots of other Senegal owners so I wanted to give people with less variety a chance to get mentioned as well. So now that we have a Ruppells and Brown Headed accounted for, we truly are an all Poicephalus forum (with wild exceptions that no one could own).

So let me try this again:

So between my Cape Parrot, Brittany's Senegal, Ivzer's Red Belly, Natacha's Meyers, Pchela's Jardine, Sidech's Brown Headed, and Ryan416's Ruppells Parrot, TheParrotForum represents all Poicephalus species bred in captivity. If you are looking for information about Poicephalus, this is definitely the place to come ask questions!
