Favorite birdy habit?

Postby zazanomore » Wed Aug 11, 2010 6:14 pm

What is your favorite habit that your bird has? My cockatiel, Einstein likes to always be on my shoulder. I've only had him for about a month, but he has started this cute habit of rubbing his head on my face. It's so cute!

So, what's your favorite bird habit?

I love when Archimedes puffs up when he gets excited over food! And Gally has started to flatten herself on whatever she is standing on and leans way over so that I can scratch her behind the head. It's so cute! :D

I live for my cuddle time with Jessie every day. He gets so excited when its time to come out and he loves his cuddles and kisses :)

Lucy, I just love to watch her when she's doing her own thing. Tonight she was having a great old time just flying around from cage to cage.

I'd have to say it'd be a toss between the kisses or gentle beak rubbing Piper gives me and the preening of my wet hair :)

That's a tough one! I guess I'd have to say it's when I make them something...and they play with it or use it...or if I do something like make a bridge for them to come from the coffee table to the sofa...like my leg...and they scramble on over...

I had to think about that for a moment! But when Cas wants out of his cage, he peeps and climbs all over the bars. If I go too long without letting him out, he'll get down on the bottom of his cage (still peeping of course) and start running along the bottom with his little head peeking over the top of the plastic. I want to get a video of it some time because it's soooo adorable!

I also love my night night routine with Lucy and Jessie.

We play peekaboo together and they have the cutest little night night noises that they only make at night when I'm covering them for bed. No matter how tired I am, I always make time for the same routine every night.

Her mid-afternoon and evening chatter, sitting on perch all puffed up she goes thru her entire vocabulary and it's adorable.

I love those times of day too :) I love listenting to Jessie when I'm in another part of the house ... when he thinks no one is listening he talks his little head off and practices new words/noises.

Ah heck .... who am I kidding. Aside from cleaning up their messes on a daily basis, I love pretty much everything about having birds :D
