ECAA Meeting in New Brunswick, Canada

Postby crousseau » Fri Aug 13, 2010 9:15 am

August is the ECAA Gala month. This year's Gala will be held on Sunday Aug. 22nd in Moncton, NB at the Mapleton Lodge. Doors open at 10:00 am. Admission is $2.00 per person / $5.00 per family for members and $3.00 per person / $6.00 per family for non members.

We are very fortunate this year to have Josee Bermingham of the Hagen Avicultural Research Institute as our guest speaker. Her topic will be "Versatile Lifestyles to Prevent Obesity and Hormonal Overdrive". We will start off the day with a wing clipping demonstration by Terri LaBonte and along with Josee's presentation in the afternoon we will have presentations by Barb Berry on showing birds and Gail Heinze-Milne on bite avoidance.

The event will end with our fund raising raffle to support World Parrot Trust.

Hope to see lots of you there. Josee is a great speaker and very experienced and is flying in from Ontario just for us!

Glad to see you have events like this out in NB where you get to meet with follow parrot owners and an outlet for learning.

I'm very fortunate to live in Guelph, where the annual Canadian Parrot Conference is held.

Are there any Parrot Clubs in your area? I'm fortunate to have a great Parrot Club in Guelph and I'm also a member.

I don't believe there are any Parrot Clubs in my area, but going to the ECAA meetings I've met a lot of people there and also where I get my bird supplies too.

Flying in from Ontario? Really? Interesting, I thought she worked for HARI and most of their work is done in Quebec. I've heard her speak twice now, and on both occasions she spoke at my Parrot Club, and I believe she always came from Montreal area.

In any case, she's definitively a good speaker, always enjoyed listening to what she has to say.
