For all your birds needs

Postby crousseau » Fri Aug 13, 2010 9:29 am

It's difficult sometimes to find good quality food, toys and bird care items for our feathered friends. Where I live in NB I thought the only place to buy these items was at a couple of local pet stores. Here we have Pets Unlimited and the stuff they carry isn't impressive, and their knowledge of birds leave much to be desired.

Luckily one day I noticed a vehicle parked next to me while I was out and it had a local website posted on it's window, www.healthybird.net This place is awesome! And a bonus for me is that the store is only 20 minutes from my home. She sells on-line all over Canada and has, in my opinion, the largest selection of EVERYTHING you need for your feathered friends. If you don't find what you're looking for on her site or in her store she will find it and get it for you. Walking into her store is the equivalent of a child walking into Toys R Us LOL.

FYI, she used to breed a variety of birds as well, Tiny Rascalls Aviary, that website still works though she doesn't breed them anymore (www.lovebirds.ca), she decided to concentrate on her store and enjoy the company of her pet birds instead.

I've shopped there on a few occasions but to be honest, although service was good in the way that Jo was always willing to help and answer questions, I've found a store closer to me which sells most of what I need for less than Healthy Bird (and when you have to buy stuff for 6 birds, the difference shows) and given the extra proximity, shipping also happens to be cheaper and the service is also quite excellent.

I am subscribed to Healthy Birds' newsletter though and do always keep an eye since you never know what deal will show up.

I agree it would be expensive with so many birds to provide for :). Luckily the store is close enough to my home that I don't have to pay any shipping. I can pick up what I need right there.
