Heywood? Seriously? You say his name... "Hey wood." People would think you named him wood. And then what do you say if you want to say hey? "Hey hey wood?"

But, I think we have decided to call him Heywood. 2001 is my husbands favorite movie and he hasn't gotten to name any of the birds so I let him have this one.

I'm hoping it sticks.

I love the name Heywood! I always think of Heywood Banks, who is HILARIOUS. And your little clowny Jardine's sounds to fit this perfectly.

Okay, let me get this straight. I agonize over a name for over a month and I finally, after much research and effort, decide on a name which you immediately make fun of? Didn't you ever see 2001? Yeesh!

And thank you Azure for the support.

But- I informed my husband that I had decided to go with the name he wanted after I posted earlier and you know what he says? "I don't know if Heywood suits him..." C'mon! You've been fighting for the name for weeks and I finally give in after several arguments and you changed your mind?!

This poor bird is never going to get a name. :?

Sorry but...heeheehee... Such is life eh? :P Don't worry you'll find one!

EDIT: So I literally fell asleep trying to think up names for the Jardine's...hahahaha... The following list is spawned by three hours of sleep and tons of caffeine, so bear with me.

Dwight (As in Dwight Schrute?)
Cousin Mose (now I seriously want to use this name)
Halpert
Ranma! (ok just kidding)
Wesley (like the character from Princess Bride...no?...)
Inigo Montoya
Edward (as in Edward from Cowboy Bebop... I kinda like this for a bird!)
Butters (South Park fan?)

pchela sitting there thinking...you REALLY need to stop with the name suggestions, Azure...you're not helping. At. ALL.

Don't feel too bad, most of the time when we get to name a new pet it takes about a month to decide. Ginger went unnamed for 3 months, I'd pretty much given up on a name and just referred to her as "the other one" for a while  My mom doesn't even name her birds half the time  (but she only keeps the small species. Her tiel has a name, but that took even longer than Ginger did)
Sara, birdma to
Rosie(9), Vosmaeri Eclectus
Hardy(20+), Lilac Crown Amazon
Norma(14), Congo African Grey
Trinity(3) and Ginger(1), Normal Grey and White-faced Cinnamon Cockatiels

I feel bad for you pchela. You have been agonizing over a name for quite sometime. If you like Heywood than you should go with that name. It's a unique name and I like it.

Thanks for the effort and the suggestions! Now I shall demonstrate why our poor bird has no name.

Dwight - I could never name him after such an irritating character! What if he turned out to be kind of jerkish like Dwight just because I named him that?
Halpert - It's nice and unique but if I were to name a pet after that character I'd have to go with the original Tim Canterbury.
Wesley- was actually considered for Buffy/Angel and The Princess Bride but not really fond of the actual name.
Inigo Montoya - again, love the character, not so fond of the name itself!
Edward - Twilight has forever ruined this name.
Butters - I'm a fan of unusual people names for birds.

LOL- trust me. I have an extensive list of tons of favorite characters, their names and name meanings (which I also take into account) and reasons for and against each name. I'm probably just too picky but I want a cool name that has a cool meaning and is named after a cool character. Why is that so hard to find?!

Thank you lzver for your support and understanding how difficult it can be to name them!
