I'm not that good at computer stuff, so I'm not sure if this will help. But if you open the picture using an editing program like Paint or something, then go to file and click on "save as" it should have a dropdown menu of the file types. Usually .bmp .jpg and .jpeg are widely accepted on internet sites.
