I know exactly how you feel! I've been "researching for the fun of it" as well and found a GCC at the local animal shelter... the absolutely amazing thing is that this shelter allows adoption of birds and wee animals by donation, so technically I could have a GCC for a song and dance! Oooo, sooo tempting!

C'mon, you KNOW you want one... (of course I am secretly trying to get a bunch more GCC owners on here. Although now I'm in BOTH camps... oh help! Shades of Pogo: "We have met the enemy and he is us")

Here's another prime example of how dangerous "researching" is....now I'm seriously considering going back to uni, to grad school, to work on parrot behaviour! Playing with parrots all day, visiting shelters, talking to owners...VERY APPEALING!

Red Moppet, life is just better with a GCC ;)

If you are getting another I recommend a parrotlet. I use to have one and he was the light of my life. I wish he was still here. They are great little birds.

That's very exciting and I'm sure it would be extremely rewarding! :)

I worry about being a good enough caretaker to my budgie, so I worry about a "more challenging" bird - but I love the personalities of GCC. I also have considered a parrotlet. Consider me odd perhaps, but I love the sounds of Indian Ringneck parrots and they are so regal looking too. Oops, I'm getting into other thread territory! Sigh... just thinking about birds IS dangerous!!

Probably. And while they are ruling, the GCCs will party down!

Jan, that's really cool!
