They are so easy to take along when you have to move. I guess stuff happens. It is sad, I wish I could take them all.

A lot of people get parrots not realizing how much of a commitment and how much work they really are...they initially think they are "easy" (how hard can it be to take care of a bird? put it in a cage and feed seed - line of thought) and when reality sets in...the bird is the one to pay.

ture.... many of new parrot owner just don't understand what they are getting.

A Cape would be awesome, but we already have a possessive :caique: - adding another possessive feathered family member to the mix would be difficult.

I hope they're able to find good homes (not mediocre homes) for these parrots, as a mediocre home may be more likely to rehome them again in the future if they don't measure up quickly.

As for moving...I have moved about 12 times with birds :gray: :cockatiel: :caique: (and other odd animals, like Chinchillas, and reptiles in my early twenties), and never had troubles moving them, or finding apartments that were willing to take me & my zoo in. It was obviously easier when I moved in with my now-husband, as he owned his home, and we own the home we're in now - no one can have a say as to whether or not pets are allowed.

If it were an overseas move, however, I know from another board I'm on and a large aviary breeder friend of mine that it's VERY difficult to get birds shipped overseas to join their human flock - the stress alone on the bird...

Tough choices :(
