Most Embarssing Gooey Thing You Do For Your Bird

Postby entrancedbymyGCC » Tue Oct 12, 2010 6:36 pm

I thought this would be a fun topic.

I made up a bedtime lullaby for Scooter and I sing it every night. He listens while I sing and says "Pretty Scoo-scoo". When I get to the "Go to sleep Scoo-scoo" part, he ducks into his tent. Of course he comes out again and yells at me through the door after I turn out the lights and close the office... I'm trying to figure out how to extend it for Scotty without making Scooter jealous.

My husband sings it for me when I'm out of town. He'd probably shoot me if he knew I admitted that in public...

I call Galileo my baby and when I cover her for the night I tell her good-night mommy loves you.

LOL

I pretty much say that to all of them before bed... But Galileo seems to actually care. Bahahahaha...

I have an animal voice. It's my special voice I only use when talking (in private) to my babies (the dog included). It's a high pitched voice and I constantly say silly things like "your my baby birdy bird" and "whose a bird? YOUR A BIRD"

I've had people walk in on me doing that. Embarrassing stuff right there.

What are you guys talking about? I NEVER talk to my pets like THAT *whistles while nose starts to grow*

I also like to sing (horribly) the preschool songs I've learned at work to my birdies. The current favorites are "you are my sunshine" and "slippery fish"

These are all so cute! :D

Sputnik will come up right to my lips and put his head on them when I sweet-talk him. I will forever tell him he's my "sweet blue button budgie baby bird" or my "itty bitty pretty bird".

And I've been known to make kissy/birdie noises while I walk around my classroom

Aaron & I whistle at each other all morning before I head off to work. His favorite is the wolf whistle, so we do a lot of that. I do talk to the cats a bit, but they don't require as much interaction in the morning as Aaron does. Anyway, because I live alone, that's it for communicating before work. Oftentimes, it's pretty quiet at the office in the morning, & I don't speak to anyone for an hour or two. So my boss poked his head in to my office one morning a couple of weeks ago to give me some quick instructions before he headed out to a meeting, & instead of saying "ok" or "gotcha" in response, I wolf-whistled at him! He paused & looked at me funny, & it took me a couple of seconds to realize what I'd done. & then I was both embarrased & tickled at myself. My boss didn't really have time for a long explanation of my behaviour, & an explanation to a non-bird person would just sound ridiculous, so I have yet to explain myself!

I have a couple of songs I sing to them in private. The favorite is The Rainbow Connection because I know all of the words. I also sing Do You Realize? to them and Three Little Birds by Bob Marlie of course!

I'm not and never have been a baby talker, not even when I had a baby so the singing is really letting loose for me. I don't generally do silly things. I was, however, finding myself saying a lot of poor babies and it'll be okays to Rupert last night during his ordeal.

Okay, okay... sometimes, when nobody is looking, we play the tickle game or the got your foot game. Don't tell anybody.
