Well I always thought I'd be a one parrot person. I don't really have any intention of getting another, but it seems to be a very popular concept. I do feel guilty leaving Akilah for long hours during work, like everyone else. My mom pops in and talks to her for a bit in the evening, but other than that it's TV and window. I'm sure another bird would keep her company in a nearby cage, but then that's cutting the time I can spend with the first bird in half. It's also double the cost...vet, food, cage, etc. I think Akilah will be an only-bird for a few years yet, but how old is too old to introduce a new (not cagemate) bird to a senegal? What about having "pets" for the parrot, like finches? Just to watch and listen to.
