Esme bathing

Postby pchela » Fri Nov 19, 2010 3:54 pm

This was taken on Esme's first full day with us. I guess she's pretty comfortable here! Sorry about the size... I recorded it with my phone and I can't figure out how to flip it.

I'll try to get a better video next time. She will literally flip herself on her side, almost on her back and do this kind of stumbling, intoxicated thing that is really funny.

Zaza- Esme is only the second out of many Greys that I've known that likes to bathe. If you want a bather, you need a Caique or a Conure!

But, aside from the bathing, she sure is a lot of fun. Not to diss my other birds, but you can just see the intelligence in her. She is clearly thinking things through and planning her next move whereas my other guys kind of just act first, think later. Except for Nicodemus, who is just a nervous bird and never acts without considerable consideration.

More intelligent, or more intellectual... if you can apply that term to a bird?

Hmmm... I'm not sure. More intelligent I guess. She just seems to pay more attention to what's going on around her in order to use it to her advantage. The others are bright to be sure, but she just seems to be a few steps ahead of the others. I've heard they also have the ability to empathize and be in tune with their peoples emotions but I imagine we'd have to form a much stronger bond before I could say whether there is any truth to that.
