Jessie, my Amazon does the same thing! He'll bark like the dogs and then tell himself to shut up or to be quiet! He actually barks more than my dogs...

haha, also my budge screams like a lorikeet and my lorikeet chirps like a budgie...its so confusing!!!!! lol

That's not real, just someone's lame attempt at humour. I don't think there's anything wrong teaching a bird to say "Shut up", I mean, some of them have to be thinking it the way some humans go on and on ;). But really, from what I've seen, when a parrot swears or says something off-colour, all it does is make everyone laugh and pay attention to the bird, it's only a bad thing when someone decides to make it so. And if people are afraid their child will learn to swear from a bird...well, better have that kid wear earplugs 24/7 cause foul language is everywhere these days ;).

I'm not saying that my little brother won't hear those words. I'm saying, I wouldn't go ahead and teach him to say those words for a laugh.
