how do you help a parrot to overcome fear?

our senegal parrot is having a massive amount of fear towards my dh. we were told that a few years ago one of her previous owners, a male, stuck the vaccum into her cage where she and her sister were and spooked the sister, to the point were she tore her wing off of her body, and was immediately put down at the vets. Now she doesnt have fear towards vaccums, but she does towards male men. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or suggestions to help our sweetheart to get rid of her fear towards men.
