If she's all that tame, don't stress over her being sold as a breeder, tame birds make very poor breeders. yes occasionally you'll have pet birds that breed, but most pets won't take another bird as a mate because they were raised by humans and have bonded to humans before.(we're talking amazons here). That's why i was telling you to be careful when introducing your new amazon to your old one, most don't like to share and be prepared to not be able to have them both out at the same time. PS they will kill each other, and very quickly.

If she is picked up by a breeder she won't get the love and attention she is used to.
I explain Rambo as a five year old with a speach impediment. He knows what he is saying. He asks questions and wants answers. Being as stubborn little kid he doesn't always answer when we ask a question. He uses the words he knows and rearanges them to get his point accross. These little guys are beings in their own right and should be treated that way.
Rambo tried to bond to a male Quaker. The Quaker didn't want anything to do with him but Rambo kept going to his cage to talk to him.

No ma,am the TAGs are breeder birds and they don't play with anybody. Also i have 3 hen Amazon pets in the living room 2 are OK with each other and can share perches and food and even pets from us, one is my wife 's pet and the other is a rescue, but my pet and my wife's pet would kill each other if they could.

So - what you are saying is that Rambo who cuddles, whats rides on our shoulders, talks to the dogs and barks with them, calls me when I don't answer my mother fast enough, takes showers with us and greets people at the door with the dogs will not get along with another bird?
I have interspecies friendship with all of them. Cats and dogs play together. Rambo will place chase with the cats. He talks to the tiels but gets mad at them because they can sing. He has created some opra to join in. The only problem we have in this house is that my cat and my daughters cat don't get along.
Should I take Rambo to meet the other parrot before I accept it?

No Ma'am i'm not saying he won't get a long, but be careful, some get along and some don't. I would quarantine a new bird and then introduce them slowly from a distance, one cage on one side of the room and one on the other, after a few days move them a bit closer, watch their reaction to one another and don't ever try putting them into the same cage, having pet amazons that are best buds is unusual and not the norm.If you rush things and one bird attacks the other then that's the way it will be and it's hard to change after one dominates the other.,in other words slow ,slow slow.

I have found 4 in this area. 2 need rehomed from loving homes. 1 is from a shelter but $1000 which is more than I can handle right now but they are already attached to her. 1 more is from the same shelter and was surrendered because they couldn't take care of her. I filled out the adoption papers on her and am waiting.
