I also like "Soliel."
"Sol", Spanish for "Sun" or "Soleado" for "sunny"
"Saul"
"Sonny" for a boy
"Amarillo", "Amaryllis" playing with "yellow" in Spanish
"Sunflower"
"Dante"
"Surya" a Hindu Sun god
"Liza" a West African Sun god
" Lugh" a Celtic sun god ("luke" I think would be the pronunciation)
"Mithras" a Persian sun god
The south american sun gods are difficult to spell and pronounce, but would be appropriate:
"Huitzilopochtli" (Wheat-za-pocked-li) or "Tonatiuh" (Tawn-at-ee-uh) (My best guess at the pronunciation, I couldn't find a definitive reference quickly).

thanks everyone for suggestions. I suppose i'll decide after i get him.. but the reason i was looking for suggestions so early is because it gave me something to do that doesn't cost money hahaha... I'm so excited so i've been buying stuff for him and have been spending WAY too much money.

I'm not sure what gender it's going to be so i'm just going to say it's a male. I might get him tested but tests here cost so much. For example a blood test for my dog was $350 AU
EDIT: actually i've been looking for dna test prices and they seem to be around $40 AU thats alright.

Have you looked up avian biotech? You can send in a blood sample or a feather and it's $19.50.

LOL Might wanna play those recordings for the neighbors as well!! My neighbors in my apartment had no problem hearing my SunConure when she started to go off in the morning or at night :P The DNA isn't that expensive. I haven't DNA's any of my birds in the past until my most recent companion. My :gray: it dosen't really matter either way unless like you said to avoid egg laying, but there are other ways to avoid that as well even if you do end up with a female.

I live in a big house on a corner so the one neighbour won't hear it as much as we will haha.. however.. these neighbours are horrible.. their kids scream and yell at the parents louder than any conure  .. and their dogs bark constantly.. they have to keep them inside. Also they have aviary birds that are pretty loud. I just feel sorry for all their animals :( ... they just buy them for the sake of it.. then don't bother training them the most basic things.. they just expect puppies and baby pets to be perfectly behaved and just understand what humans want.

anyway i love threads with photo's.. so i've got a pic of the cage i bought since i won't have parrot photo's for awhile.

Image

The stuff in the cage is just a few things i have, just playing around setting it up.. but i keep taking things out and putting things in

Also one of my dogs is modeling how big the cage is as well as waving hello to the parrot forum people :D (the carpet is under him because he kept slipping on the timber floors when waving haha

also i don't really mind what gender it is really.. so maybe i'll just save the dna money for more toys :P

He's definatly going to get spoilt!.. i just wish he'd be ready to come home alreeaaddddyyyy :) . I've found it hard to find a baby sun conure (and alot of other parrots) here :( so i've been on the waiting list.. then these 2 babies hatched. I've still got to wait more than a month!.. oh well at least it gives me time to buy more toys :)
