Worst bite

Postby patdbunny » Wed May 11, 2011 9:15 am

What's the worst bite you've received?

I have two that pretty much tie with me.
First one, the female eclectus chomped down on the fleshy part of my right hand where the thumb is. I suffered temporary nerve damage and couldn't feel my thumb for about a month. At the time I didn't know it was temporary. I was pretty upset that I thought I permanently couldn't feel my thumb anymore.

Second worst bite was from a CAG. Bit my index finger pretty much down to the bone and I had a large flap of flesh hanging. I bled like a murder victim. My husband came in the room and saw blood all over and was horrified. I should have gotten stitches, but nah I didn't bother. Took quite awhile to stop the bleeding.

My Meyer's Petey - and I've been bit by a Moluccan cockatoo!

Petey's bite - it was pretty bad. He bit me on my right index finger, right were you can fold it at the top portion of the finger. And he would keep digging in. My finger was rather large for a good week or two.

Compared to what y'all posted I feel like a sissy! Long ago my male cockatiel ripped a large chunk out out of my finger, I couldn't believe a cockatiel could cause something that hurt so badly and the blood! Oh the bleeding. My finger hurt for days. My little lovebird likes to snuggle down in my shirt/bra (sorry, tmi) and she gave my poor boob a hard chomp the other day that made me jump out of the chair. Cheeky bird.

I'm not laughing at your injury! But, holy cow, "flip the bird" with your left foot. I'm a little dense and didn't get it at first.

Do you still have the macaw?

Yeah! I know right! I have people wanting to get their kid an untame cockatiel or a budgie and I tell them it's like setting their kid loose to cut themselves with scissors.

I've been bitten by a Moluccan Cockatoo before, but I have the say Cheney Bird has been my worst bite. He digs in with his sharp little razor beak and pulls away skin. The first time he did this, I was a mix of shocked and mortified that a little bird could do that! Fortunately, it doesn't seem to have scarred.

Bonnie. She has a razor beak or something.

I'm really grateful that I've only been bitten a few times by her, and that was when I first bought them.

But honestly, I've never been bitten by anything bigger than a cockatiel, so I have nothing really to compare it to.

Go find a GCC to make angry. I swear, I can't even feel budgie bites now. They feel like tapping or something.

Mango menage to bite me each time after I clip his beak, like he's trying if it's working. But that's nothing compering to some of your stories..
