I don't have any trouble with it. Just keep the image size 150x150 or less. If it is a photo, use jpeg compression (probably 3-5 out of 10). On a small image like that, it doesn't hurt it too much cause there isn't much resolution to see in the first place. For a graphic, use png or gif with less colors (like 64 or less) and it will be fine.
