Amazon Parrot

Postby TilafromManila » Mon Jun 27, 2011 10:32 am

Hello,

We have to sell our Amazon Parrot. He's about 10 years old.
How much would an Amazon Parrot go for when we sell him and he is 10 years old?

Thank you,

Shame on you. You said sell instead of rehome. If you have to give it up - you treat it like a child that is put up for an adoption. You can charge an adoption fee but completely check out the family it is going to. A family that passes for adoption will appreciate that you loved him enough to do it.

He is a "being" not a throw away.

I am very sorry that I was so sharp with you.

I hope you find a good home for it.

Honestly, no more than a few hundred dollars. I would personally ask the new owner to put the money towards buying supplies for the bird/saving emergency vet funds, rather than taking the money for myself.

For the sake of the bird's well being, it may be better off if you would pay a few thousand dollars as a donation to find a for life rescue to take it.

You certainly sound very cruel asking how much your 10 year old parrot is worth...

You should be trying to find the best suitable home for him. Not thinking about dollars...

I noticed that your profile states that you only have one bird. If that is true, and you give up this bird then please don't ever get another bird. You obviously don't have concern for your bird. You do however have concern for your wallet. Very sad situation you put this bird in.

I said it right to begin with. There is nothing more we can do. Tila has not come back for more advice. She just wanted to know the price.

Why is it ok to sell on horses, dogs, and the such, but never ok to sell on birds, to the point of telling people 'shame on you'. That's not constructive in the slightlest.
