It sounds strange but the parrot is not afraid of your dad. He is afraid your dad will hurt you. He is defending you.

What goes on between you and your dad? Does he yell at you a lot?

ehhh yeah kinda yes cuz he dont like me on the laptop, he aperantly gets nervous im on it too much buttt...yeah but not often like once every few days.. dont think that has to do with it

I also Think the bird is defending you against your dad. It senses that your dad is a threat for you. When you're not around, he is okay with your dad. But when he sees you, he wants to protect you, so he attacks your dad to make him go away. If he's with you, same thing.

The problem is not with your dad, but in the way your dad treats you. You can't fool an animal. Even if it is subtle things, or things that don't happen a lot, the bird senses it. He's not afraid for himself, but for you.

Try to work on the way you and your dad interact together, and you should see a difference if you are very constant.

Well i just thought of something, you see my dad dos'nt really yell at me often or alot for now after thinking about it's that...because if it wanted to keep us from fighting why would it only defend me, and not my dad it only bites him. different idea?

Your Bird is your bird - you are his human. Your dad is another person near it. Your bird defends you. It does not try to keep you from fighting. It trys to keep your dad away from you.

i can see in your profile that you have 10 birds , i think all of them is for your dad ? if yes and your dad the one who bought them and take care of them and stuff like that .

then its not a big deal the 1 out of 10 loved you .enjoy your new parrot

well this is the only PARROT the rest are just birds he breeds they are couples so they dont bond with humans.by the way the parrot used to like me and my dad it would never bite anyone but after that last few weeks it only likes me but yeah i think it just gets jelious. because if i leave alot for a couple hours then it is nice to my dad. Then if i walk by its going to hate my dad and try to bite him again...

maybe you and your dad should leave it alone for a couple of hours or something so when your parrot would crave for some interactions. or maybe you guys give it way too much attention and its spoild. so after the few hours go in the room with your dad. the time also depends on when your parrot finally wants attention. so after you guys are in the room both of you guys try to interact with it etc.
