Even if the bird does like you it should not be allowed to try to attack your dad. You said that your bird will fall to the ground and try to attack your dad.
Really as soon as the bird starts acting in an aggressive way all attention stops and you(the person he is defending) leaves the room. After the bird has calmed down and maybe let your dad pick it up and put it on a perch, chair, sofa etc. and give it a treat you re enter the room. If the bird reacts aggressively toward your dad you turn on your heels and leave again. Eventually your bird will learn that trying to "defend" you really just makes you go away.
Don't wait for him to be in full "attack mode" either. As soon as you see the warning signs thats your cue to set him down and split.
This is my 2 cents. It's something I have used in the past very successfully.

Well im not sure if this can be settled but it seems my dad isnt too bugged about it anymore i'll give it time if it still acts like this i'll try and settle it but for now it seems everyone has done enough, thanks to all of you who tried to help. And an off subject question-my dad has about 16 birds in total now(since is a bird breeder). And the poblem is the 2 new pairs and cockateils witch are suprisingly noisey when around so many birds and we cant get them to be quiet, though all we've tried is puting blankets over there cages.Any tips?

I like your idea. Don't take away the one he is attacking - take away the reason for the attack. Excellent.

I too am going through a similar situation right now. I have had my amazon parrot for ten years, since he was born. He is extremely bonded to me and at times will attack other people, but generally just doesn't let anyone else touch him but me. My boyfriend came into the picture about 2 years ago and at first my parrot was extremely scared of him and wanted nothing to do with him. The last couple of months my parrot has let him hold him and sometimes pet him. Now the last couple of days whenever my boyfriend is holding him and I walk into the room my parrot straight up attacks me! I can't believe it. He broke the skin on my eyebrow and my arm, which he has never done before. I understand your frustration. Parrots just have a really difficult time being more than a one-person pet. I will keep you updated on what happens, hopefully we can figure this out!

i am not sure but potentailly yes, i would discourage your dad from doing that just to be on the safe side.

Update: so my dad ended up selling the bird a few months back(without my consent of course -.-)because she became too much of a hassle, I wasn't too bothered by it at first but now I'm starting to kind of miss her. But ultimately she was a difficult bird to maintain and I was only going to my dad's 2 days a week so I couldn't train her very well. Now I'm going to buy my own bird and I'm debating between a cockatiel and a green cheeked conure. My dad says don't get a bird because their feather dust is bad for your lungs(don't know about that) but I want a bird and was wondering which one would be better for me I want a larger bird but they're harder to manage. I'm fine with a cockatiel or conure it seems like the conures are more active and playful(which is exactly what I'm looking for) but their price tag is rather high and it seems like cockatiels are relatively playful themselves, any suggestions?

Hi dako and welcome back to the forum. It feels kinda strange for me to welcome you to the forum since you were a member before I was, but welcome back and I hope that we can be more helpful than the last time you were here.
Perhaps it would be easier to assist you in finding what species of parrot would fit your lifestyle better if you could tell us more about you and your lifestyle and what you are looking for in a parrot.

Thank you for the welcome back :3 I appreciate it! Anyway I'm in my senior year of high and although I'm not too busy right now in the next week my lifestyle will be something along the lines of:
mon-thurs: I will arrive home sometime in the hours of 3-6pm and stay until sleep
fridays: may only be home for 3-6 hours after 3pm and will most likely not be sleeping over
sat/sun : one of these days I can be home for the whole day while I will be out for the entire latter day

So I won't have all the time in the world for my birdie but I am willing to put up a fair share and when I do play with him/her I want them to be very fun to play with :L
My mom is allergic to alot of stuff bu I have no clue how strong she will be allergic to whatever a bird may fan out.
My mom has a pet yorki which is pretty much a joke seeming the dog won't even chase cats so I'm not too worried about my bird being hunted down(however I will make sure to never leave the bird defenceless nevertheless). Anything else you'd like to know just go ahead and ask right now green cheeked conures and cockatiels seem fairly appealing but I want to get some second opinions.

personally I would wait until my schedule would allow more time with the bird as it will not be a happy bird with such a limited amount of time with you.
