Yeah I still definitely think that if he is going to take thet bird outside again, he doesn't really care for the bird so he shouldn't own the bird.

how do you know that he doesn't care for the bird he do care for the bird

You make me feel sad now. :(

Yes I do know acciedents happens and my birds life could be in danger, but I didn't do it on purpose. If I were to do it on purpose I would just frown it in the woods. I'm not mean the my budgie. And I think you should not make such mean replies. I know the risk it goes through being in the wild when it's bred in captivity. sorry if I was rude it's just that it was on accident, not on purpose. :?

Who knows what he's doing. I feel like crying now!!!

and he said the best reply
If you cared you would feel bad for me and my bird.

here is an example for some of the good comments that are helpful and not mean at all

Why did you take it outside? Budgies are too small for a harness, they always need to be in a secure carrier.

You can try putting its cage outside and luring it back with some millet.

Accidents can always happen, even to owners who try extremely hard to do everything right and double or triple check themselves.

Your budgie is very lucky and at the same time very unlucky.

Do you not understand what the things are that makes a bird.....a bird? Your budgie is helpless without an owner caring for it. You took an unnecessary risk and put your pet's life in danger purposely. Don't do this again.

I feel upset when I think about your budgie alone, hungry, and in the possible path of a predator/sick.

It's very important for you to take precautions and keep your budgie safe. Budgies need to be in a secure carrier. I'm very sorry for making you feel sad. But I'm looking out for the best interest of your pet.

also there is dohcsvt's comment

I am glad that you found your little friend. My sun conure got away from me yesterday and it took 20 minutes and a garden hose to get him back. I feel your pain. Atleast I never lost sight of my little friend. Congrats again on finding him!

hope you guys get my point the bird is now with Ray so no need to be angry

It's ok. I'm eleven I'm still learning. I take him put every day for months and never lost him. I promis "I will never take a bird out unrestrained again unless it learns freeflight and it'll come back"!

But let's face it, Chris Biro lost macaws and never found them. Here's more music.

Yep, you are still eleven so you are still learning. Good on you for looking after a budgie and for making sure that you will never take it out unrestrained again.

I refer to the person as the name is under the icon. I assumed your name was Skip. Mine is Liz.

I don't have time to keep referring to the bio's.

Good on you Ray. Thank you for putting your birdys safety first. I know it sounds wonderful to be able to take your birdy out for a walk but in reality, you just cant. the risks are too high. Now, this is over (for me, will not post anymore on this subject) because YOU PROMISED. Go now and be a really good buddy to Toni (and Skip, when you get him)

Ray - you are young but with every day you get older and learn more.

I am 61. About 5 years ago I had a pet chicken in my menageri (Chick Chick). As a kid we had chickens so I knew how to care for her. Our chickens ran through the yard all day and had fun so I let Chick Chick run in the yard with the other critters. I had her many years. One night she did not come into her pen. The next morning I found her. A hawk had grabbed her and ripped her back off because she was too heavy for him to pick up. I don't know how she lived except for my love of her. I tended her wound and prayed alot. We bonded even tighter during this time. When she recovered after weeks of care I had to rehome her to a safer place. I turned to my church for help and one of the ladies agreed she could take her. She was added to a flock of 4 hens known as "the girls" with the same care and love that I gave her. I still miss her.

The point is - she needed a flock to survive. If a bird of prey would attack a 5 pound chicken it will attack a lone smaller bird. They only survive in the wild because of the flock.

I ramble on. My point is that I was still learning in my 50s. I didn't have a chicken forum to tell me not to do it. You have us. Our love of our kids sometimes make us sound harsh. But it is like a mother scolding her child for running out into the street.

Ask LemonLover. She now knows I love her but our first run in was not pleasant. Please just learn and move on.
