I didn't think this would be so difficult

I understand.

Is it a pet shop that you frequent? I forgot how old you are and don't know if you can be outspoken.

I'm old enough that I can get away with about anything. Of course I am outspoken too. If it were me I would go back and shame the owner or management. I would ask to see the owner or manager and bring him right to the cage. Let him know how cruel he is treating the bird and he should be ashamed of himself. That it is not only filthy but so small that the birds muscles are weak. Lack of exercise also weakens bones and they break easily. Like I said, that's what I would do and if he didn't agree to change things I would get loud enough for others to hear. Then go back the next day when it is crouded. If he hasn't changed things, educate the people around you loud enough for him to hear. They will back you up.

Okay - that is my 2 cents.

No I do not, its pretty grungy which is why I stay away from there. I just stopped in to price some of their cages. I'm turning 20 in about a month and no I'm not very outspoken I'd rather stay away from confrontation  But you're right, I'll have to stop in when I have time. I won't get loud and obnoxious because that's just not me but I will be forward. My plan is to ask how old and just how long the bird has been there and if they really wanted the bird gone why don't they put it in one of the cages they carry and sell it like as a bundle? And also bring up the lack of exercise, no toys, and all that good stuff. There are also some smaller birds like sun conures and green cheeks I believe. There used to be an african grey but yeah they're in similar enclosures too. I just feel more concerned for the amazon though because it's bigger I guess.

I didn't say obnoxious. That works in reverse. But if the manager does not change it - educating other customers will put pressure on him.

Exert yourself. You are not doing it for yourself but for a little being who can't defend itself.

Budgies are not very loud. The boy I babysit has one and when he really gets excited by his mirror and lets it all out, it's not very loud. It can be noisy enough to be annoying, but nobody could hear it from outside the apartment. I've also heard lovebirds are quiet, but have no experience with them. My best friend has a cockatiel and usually he's quiet unless he doesn't think he's been out of his cage enough (even though you just put him back after HOURS of playing haha). I guess it depends on the bird.
