I have never been to a bird fair. I am afraid that I might be upset by what I see. I never go to pet stores I just can't handle it. I have volunteered at the rehab part of the zoo. There is hope there.
If I had time I would volunteer at an Avian Rescue because there is hope there.

The only pet I ever searched for was a rescue bird about the same size as Rambo. All the others have found me in one way or another over the years. 6 dogs, 6 cats, 6 tiels, 2 amazons, 2 lovies and a guinie pig = 23 and I know I can't handle anymore. That is until something else needs me.

There are too many ignorant people in the world who have no intention of learning. I guess I have gotten too old and tired to deal with them.

Sorry - don't mean to be a downer.

I do want to hear all the good stuff you find. Enjoy the fair and let me know what new things are out there.

I really like bird fairs. A lot of bird-oriented people are there, and most of them are very friendly. The ones I've been to haven't had unhealthy birds, and it's a good way to meet and network with more people in the hobby.

Just make sure you either buy things wrapped in plastic, or disinfect anything you buy when coming home. And if you mean to buy a bird, bring a carrier, or else you'd have to buy one there.

It does say on their website that they do not allow dirty cages or ill-looking birds... and there will be vets there so I'm guessing it wont be that bad! But we'll see tomorrow.
