Bird Store in South East UK?

Postby JennyBink » Mon Feb 06, 2012 7:37 pm

Anyone from the UK know of any good pet shops that have a good range of birds/parrots in the South East UK? I'm from Essex and had to go to practically Wales to get my Sennie from a breeders. I'm just interested in looking at some different species now I've learnt a bit about some of the different types of bird and there seems to be a distinct lack of places to visit around here other than zoos which just seem to have macaws usually. (I'm not looking to buy) x

I recommend looking around in local ads to look for breeders, if not try these sites:
http://www.buysellbirds.co.uk/

http://www.birdtrader.co.uk/

Hope it helped!

I'm also in Essex and I agree that it's best to find a breeder (or rescue a bird). I got my cockatiel from a breeder in walthamstow (London), she's good and she cares for her birds and looks after them well. She sells Budgies and Cockatiels. Handreared budgies are about £35 and handreared cockatiels are about £70. In terms of rescuing a bird, just go on sites like preloved and find a bird for adoption. I'm so glad I didn't have to go to Wales to get my bird
