I don't have a problem with Sparky being near my face, I know his cues and keep my eyes up and out of the way. I like having him on my shoulders, and would love it if/when he becomes more cuddly :)

I trust my irn with my face. I taught her to give kisses instead of bites when she wants something. I'm also pretty aware of her cues. It helps that its an irn, and not something huge like a macaw. Really the only thing I'm scared of when Ace is on my shoulder is if she vocalizes next to my ear.

I let Lily (Meyers parrot) on my shoulder, give her kisses on her head and back with no problem all the time. That being said, she did charge before from my shoulder to my husbands chest and bit his face while we were relaxing on the couch. So I guess to sum it up, I feel comfortable with her close to my face; my husband however not the case (I can't blame him)
