REHOME...

Postby liz » Wed Jun 13, 2012 9:30 am

This is a thread I believe we should have. There are many people such as myself who prefer to rehome or rescue.

I have been contacted by a person in Florida who needs to rehome. If there is some one who can take a rehome in that area please contact rcarney20@tampabay.rr.com

yes there should be a way to find help in a more hands on kind of way. i found the advice and moral support very helpful but sometimes we learn better when shown a technique 1st hand. and to lend a hand to someone in our own areas would be great. i'm in Liz! :thumbsup:

My guess is a lot of people on here are keeping their birds, so it's not a lack of interest but a lack of users looking to rehome their babies.

My daughter brought home two budgie, one of which was plucking. She intended to rehab and rehome. She is never home and I just am not able to help this little girl. Rachel took a job where she is only home one day a week and I am overwhelmed with all her other critters.

Is there anyone within driving distance who can take them in. They are happy little things and it is a shame for them to just be fed and cleaned when I know there is more to their personalities than the happy little chirps.

Also :swaying: Tweetle Dee lost his buddy and good while back. He wants to be with the cockatiels but they are too passive and he pushes them around. I have become attached to him and really enjoy him but I have 5 cages to clean now and am really not giving him time.

They are far from doing without and are really happy but I feel that they deserve more than I am able to give them.

I also found an 8 week old tuxedo kitten in a parking lot. We already have 5 cats and they don't want her. The dogs like her and play with her but she should not grow up thinking she is a dog.

Liz ;

I am not sure just yet and it might take me a couple of days to get an answer, but I do have a possibility. Is this for one or two budgies? And what comes with them?
They would not be with me, but they would be where I can watch over them regularly and take them back if it doesn't work out for them.

Harley and Marley
Marley is half naked.
The cage I have them in is called a cockatiel cage and it is small but bigger than what they came with. They have a feeder and waterer and toys. The feeder is useless because they empty it as soon as I fill it. I have a supply of seed for them.

Thank you for the help. Before I posted I checked the distance between us. I was hopping you would respond.
