Thank you Pajarita for your response. I don't know how else to make him happy, he really is desperate for a mate and he has tried to make nests in the dark under the sofa. We don't want him to just be a breeder bird but it would be nice if he could have a female he could bond with. Our African Grey just cannot stand him and he keeps going over to her cage which causes her to have a hissy fit, I think he'd like to be friends with her but she's not interested.

Oscar gets fresh fruit and veggies twice daily plus Eclectus food from the parrot store, he loves his veggies and he's very healthy apart from the feather chewing and the frustration. We'd love to see him go to a good home with someone who understands these birds.

I understand your situation and am sorry that it is the way that it is. Could you give a general area in which you live as it might help you to find a home for your bird.

Things are looking really bad for cockatiel rehome on ebay. Because the ones who are trying to rehome are asking as much as $200 because they want to sell the cages and stuff too. Breeders are offering their tame babies for as low as $20. That is so tempting for people who know nothing about birds. I just wish I had the liquid money to get all the rehomes who need me.

But I am ready for two more cockatiels. I just have to find the ones that need me the most.

There was a post for a tame loving cockatiel with cage and toys for $30. I almost got sick. I tried to email her to be very selective, raise the price or hold on to him until I could get there. My email did not go through and the posting has been removed. Her cage was like mine and I paid $200. I wonder where that little cockatiel ended up.

:swaying: Tweetle Dee still needs a buddy. I could not find one for him but my daughter found an old friend who has one and would like a buddy. Tweetle Dee is leaving today. I will miss him but I have to do what will enrich his little life.

Make sure they are either boy and girl or two boys because you can't house two female lovies together.

:swaying: Tweetle Dee is a boy. I already got feed back from his new mom. It seems that the two are whispering together about how to take over the house. Ha Ha

The little Lovie :swaying: is so much like him. Always moving and always up to something. He is the one who used to open his cage and wait for me to see him. He would do a happy dance and duck back in his cage before I could get him. He did not fly because he would not leave Tweetle Dumb his buddy. (the vet could not figure out what was wrong with Tweetle Dumb but Tweetle Dee took care of him and fed him until the end)

I miss the little guy but am happy he is happy.

And I am happy for him, too! I think keeping one of each is a disservice we do to all the little ones but most especially for lovies.
