Hi. I live in Connecticut. I have a four yr. old male Jardine's parrot. I am seeking a female parrot around the same age as this. Either a Jardine's or a Meyers or a brown headed poi. I live in an apartment and am attending school. I have a few really long days. But, they would keep each other company. I am doing my best to learn the healthiest food choices for parrots. And, provide daily out of cage time/one on one/flight perch exercise and trick training. I will accept a shipped bird as long as its direct flight. We are desperately seeking. Thanks.

I have been listing birds that I found all over the east coast that need rehomed. If they are out of my reach all I can do is list them.

If you find one in distress, which includes being sold cheap or free, get it. If you are not able to keep it someone in this forum will.

Use this thread when you want to claim a rehome or when you find one that needs help.

Lizz wrote:Things are looking really bad for cockatiel rehome on ebay. Because the ones who are trying to rehome are asking as much as $200 because they want to sell the cages and stuff too. Breeders are offering their tame babies for as low as $20. That is so tempting for people who know nothing about birds. I just wish I had the liquid money to get all the rehomes who need me.

It's not allowed to sell live animals on ebay, (other websites maybe) I've never seen this occur on ebay before, but if you see it and tell/email the supervisors they may be able to prevent it, just ask them that you'd like to remain anonymous.

It's not allowed but people do it all the time and the administrators don't check anything, you need to flag them (I go in every day to do this). Unfortunately, you need a pre-determined number of 'flags' before a post is taken down and people don't flag bird/mice/rat/turtles/snakes/spiders/ etc breeders, only dog and cats (I know because I've tried it and the posts are never taken down).

Lol, that comment made me laugh, my dad had a stroke and often gets annoyed when people take him for his word rather than try to figure out what he meant (e.g.- remember to get a book = remember to buy the tv guide magazine while you're out).

Glad Cockatiels weren't on ebay though, that's the one website that seems to be kept relatively animal free, though there was a news report five or so years ago about someone trying to sell a baby, .

Trying to rehome my current parrotlet...

So, I picked up a parrotlet last week from a woman who was selling these poor things out of her garage. Paid $150 for a blue male 9-month old parrotlet who was so scared of hands that she had to use a fish net to get him out of the old cage into mine. At that point, I bought it in hopes of finding someone who could rehabilitate him instead of leaving him there, in a dirty little cage with little human contact

I honestly think he might have been abused. He's a sweet bird and not aggressive at all, just terrified of people. There is a lot of potential to rehabilitate him, I think, but I just don't have the time at this point, between a promotion at work and summer classes.

I'm asking for $150, which is what I paid for him. I currently live in San Gabriel Valley in Southern California and can drive to meet within a 30 mile radius of Azusa. I would rather not ship him (he's terrified enough as it is), but if you are adamant, I can figure something out there.

Thanks for reading. <3 I can send pics if you PM me (still trying to figure out how to do that...)

This isn't the ideal place for your advertisement, no one will see it, you're better off creating a new thread on parrot species or something. You can PM me about quick taming if you want though, I wouldn't have thought a small 9 month old would take too long.
