Bad portrayals of parrots in movies/tv

Postby DustyTheGrey » Thu Jul 26, 2012 7:01 am

Has anyone seen a show or movie where you just thought you want to write the producers an angry letter because they are portraying bad ways to keep/treat a parrot?

The movie Love Happens with jennifer aniston and aaron eckhart just made me angry.
Also the tv show Sons of Anarchy where the mother keeps her :cockatoo: in a baron cage void of toys or colour.

Oh, pretty much all of them. None of them portray parrots in a favorable way.

they portray the parrots in a favorable way to people who don't know anything about them.my complaint about parrots in movies are the small empty cages, happily talking while looking pretty.if it were real life they would be bald screaming monsters.

I remember one quite a long time ago now but I can't remember the name-it was about pirates and the parrot kept on making rude comments and attacking more or les everything it saw (aprt from the captain)

in "The Real Macaw" the bird and kid devour a chocolate cake together- I was about sick thinking of the damage that would do

Exactly! Even though I loved the movie Rio, right in the beginning Blu the parrot eats a cookie dunked in hot chocolate!

I just saw Rio for the first time a week or so ago, and I noticed the exact same thing.

I really liked the movie, but it immediately occurred to me that a lot of kids probably wanted parrots after seeing it and then wanted to feed those new parrots chocolate
