English is my only language and you spell better than I do.

It is a wonderful thing you are doing. A lot of kids grow up never seeing a live animal.

And it has turned out to be a great place for them to meet friends. Since each kid has their specific day and time of the week their here those who has been here weekly together form a pretty strong bond (like any other after school activity) the benefit here though is that no kid is judged by another based on skills or anything they simply share an interest and have something to talk about while taking the rabbits or goats for a walk. And every year we host a few 1week camps, this year we had three of them and then it really is a full house here with 15 kids running around crazy haha. But yeah it's fun, still need/want todo some artsy stuffs though to feel that my economy is in order :) and to get some creative stuffs done :)

It is. I think, but slowly. But I'm truly blessed with the coolest zon ever yesterday he spent the whole day retrieving toys twigs and whatnot to her showing her how to play with them, by the end of the day she had gotten the hang of chewing up toys. She's also a lot calmer after the introduction and will walk right up to me without hesitation, don't really appreciate me touching her yet though but has stopped clamping down when I do, and the need for it is less now than in the beginning, but I use an ointment for her bare skin and I've also had to clean her around her bum from time to time. But now I haven't had to in about a week. As mentioned earlier I also have to start off the peeling of any new feathers growing in for her to finish it off. Oh and she will gladly grab my finger if she has trouble getting somewhere, however she won't stand ontop of it, but I think that's a balance thing couse she grabs one finger with the beak and another with her feet and then leans back as far as she can until I flip the hand so that she's upside down, then she seems to feel confident she won't fall off...

But as for her personality she seems really gentle, but then that might just be because she moves from place to place fairly slow compared to the others and that she's still catiouse about what she's doing. I've honestly never had a bird around before that's unable to fly or clipped... And it kind of breakes my heart and I have to think really hard sometimes about how to enrich her life as she have no use for swings hanging from the roof etc, but needs fun stuff on or near the ground. Hopefully though she will stop with her kamikaze jumps if startled eventually and I can allow her climbing up in the big trees.

They are I think, I can't really answer for Liz though.. I dont know if it's they way their treated from the day they get into the house or if we have been blessed with these zons. I read an article, well essay I found while I was searching the uni databases (I was really supposed to search for articles about women in 19th century British litterature, but hey gotta take a break from time to time.) anyways, this article was regarding pros n cons of sharing your whole living space with your birds and eliminate the cages in total to aschive some cohabitant rather than captive and captivator, well the article was overall quite hippie, but I could see some of the features when it comes to less behavior issues etc, but also some cons when it comes to having guests home, even with training I think it would be easier to use cages to make the training more exciting since that is out of cage time etc. well I actually do have cages for them if they would ever have to be put away and they don't mind going into them to play with some toys etc. right now their locked away in my walkin closet though because I considered them to take more place than it was worth for having them eat n play inside their cages, they for some reason never slep in them though. Wich hasn't bothered me (I know some like that for the security incase of a fire etc but if you can't get the cages through the door without screwing them apart thats not an issue, and it's actually easier to catch a scared bird outside of a cage than in a cage you have to climb into to reach everywhere). Anyways I'm rambling, but yeah I trust my zon to not bite anyone and to be kind if he decides he want to get close, usually with guests though he will hang out close but not too close, and he always flyes off rather than fight, he's still quite young though but hopefully since never pressured he will continue todo this. Only time I don't allow him to back off as he pleases is if there is something I've needed help with for example the vet, I won't have the vet sit around and wait for him to willingly do what is needed, but then I will grab him and hold him for what the vet needs to do, and so far I haven't experienced anything else than a day of grumpiness after being grabbed. So far all good, just hope it stays this way for the duration of our time together.

I would ultimately want to do a birdroom, which would be their main hangout space, designed only with parrots in mind. But that wont be an option until me and my wife decides that we want to buy a house. Our appartment is quite big, but we need the birdroom to be part office as well ^^.

yeah ive mentioned in another thread somewhere I would like to build a new house and include a big indoor aviary in the original layout (still designed to be able to be converted if i were ever to move out) but as of now I got my desk setup so that they cant get on the screen or anything else I dont want them on no cables visible etc etc, everytime i want to plug in something new on a more permanent basis I need a screwdriver... but the whole officeroom is birdproof and they got their birch and playstands etc and this is where they can hang out when im not around. to be honest this is where we all spend most of the time since im usually infront of the computer and i got the flatscreen in here as well and a small bed to lay on when watching tv haha, so vertually i live in a 2story house but spend 95% of my indoor time in here.. only time in not in here is when cooking or eating pretty much, but as most people I dont wanna plant a forest all through my home and like to contain the birdiepoop to one room as much as possible etc, but sometimes we head for the livingroom though.

Oh btw atm Gila is pissed with me, couse I did some needed cleaning of her wich ment i had to hold her upside down with her clamping down on my finger with no result, but geez she hangs on when pissed, even when i let her down she kept holding on, so she had my finger for a good 5 minutes or so clamping... but hey wont pull wont tug... better just sit there and wait for her to give up... worked with the zon so should work with her too..

Oh and she did the qutest thing this morning, she went and placed her head under the blanket I had over me and just thought that was a good spot to sleep for a while... when she woke up i scratched her behind the head for about a minute or so and she seemed to enjoy it, then she desided to look up and see what scratched her and she saw my hand and ran away... but up until i desided to clean her and put some ointment on her bare skin she folowed my footsteps.
