Hey, I liked this question :D

Anyway, my Grandma has a U2 and she screams whenever she's happy. Either way, I've gotten used to it, and besides, she's so cuddly and adorable, I wouldn't mind to live with one later :D
Granted, only as a temporary arrangement though, I can see how it /would/ get annoying later.

I actually had to think about this for a while. I've only ever owned two birds in my life and they are the ones I have now. Neither have ever plucked. Cocoa screams if someone is holding her wrong in a way she doesn't like and she can be a biter. I chose biter because that's what Cocoa is when she's angry and I have experience with her. I don't know what it's like to have a plucker and Cocoa'c screaming can easily be stopped once I tell someone that they're holding my bird wrong. I've know figured out to show them before hand how to hold her.

I'm working on Cocoa's biting. Mind you, she can also be a very cuddly and loving bird. If she bites, you deserve it.

I prefer biter, because I love Cocoa <3

Give me a plucker any day of the week.

It is a distressing habit, but not one that could damage our relationship like biting or put our home at risk like screaming.

It is one that can be worked on without the day-to-day interpersonal war that comes with biting or the threat of angry landlords or neighbours like with screaming.

Screamer, because while annoying, music helps and there's always ear plugs. :) Biting hurts me, and plucking would cause the both of us distress :(

Just looking at my situation, I've actually adopted a biter - actually worse, a bird who full on hates women and will attack whenever he feels like it.

But I have to say, I prefer dealing with that than screams.

I've lived with a plucker in the past - my mom has a Grey who has been plucking since before she got him. After a total overhaul in diet (from exclusively being fed sunflower seeds to a much more balance diet), being able to be exposed to natural sunlight, having plenty of out of cage time in an environment where he can feel safe (versus being in a tiny dark apartment, with a tiny cage and air thick with cigarette smoke) he still plucks. It's a behaviour that he has had for years, and while he's getting better, I don't think it's something he'll ever let go. Knowing that he is this way and that you are doing everything you can to make things better..I'd be ok with it.
