Eurycerus, don't feel bad. Your feelings are normal and understandable. These birds are our kids. Like any parent, we want our "kids" to be cute, sweet, and loving all the time. Parents of "human" children will tell you the same, but their kids (like our birds) can be little demons.

There have been moments when Tiki is such a biatch that I HAVE thought, "What did I get myself into?" The way I see it, birds have moods and aches and bad days just like us. Tiki isn't perfect, but I love her all the same, and I can't imagine life without her.

Please give your Nika a chance... and as someone else suggested, talk with Michael before giving her up.

Thanks ^_^ I do feel better about her interactions with me, everyday seems to get better. I'm just still concerned about her interactions with others... However she is a good little parrot. I get so worried about my choices and whether I made the right choice. I don't ever jump headlong into anything without weighing all the consequences. Even then I get all nervous and anxious . A parrot is a huge choice, 30 plus years of loving the little bugger is ahead of you. A choice which I pondered a great deal but thinking is never the same as doing.

It makes me feel better to hear that you and Tiki have bad days. Sometimes I feel like I must be the only person stressing about these choices and worrying. Thank goodness for this forum otherwise I would probably be lost!
