Well Shelby that's reassuring in the least :)

I don't smoke, and I'm the type of tenant who's quiet and a landlord won't hear a pip out of me unless its me handing in the rent, and a 'party' for me consists of getting my two best friends over and watching dog whisperer marathons XD so its just the whole pets that is my drawback.

I wouldn't mind the surprise inspections so much---there'd be NO way to get my geckos to eat dead food--and even if they did it certainly isn't healthy for them. SO the landlord has the choice between a wriggling mass of 200 mealworms a week OR 50 crickets. My python's rats are thankfully frozen in the freezer and certainly wouldn't be doing any infesting.

Shelby has a good point : can you switch to feeding frozen crickets instead of live ones ? You have to put yourself in the shoes of the owner : having crickets all over the building would mean additional costs to get rid of them and possibly losing tenants !

Or can you make a deal with your ex-boyfriend ? I suppose it's his appartment, so you offer to find him another one and pay for his moving out, and even help to box and unbox. It won't cost you more, because you already had to pay for all this. And you get to stay in your pet-friendly appartment.
