good story

Postby Marnie » Mon Aug 13, 2012 11:44 pm

last week my friend came to work looking very sad. she said one of her lovebirds (Diablo)flew away when her son opened the cage door while they were on the porch for some fresh air.
they live across the street from a park and they could hear him calling and responding to them, but being tiny and green there was no way to spot him.
the second day they kept Lucy on the porch in her cage to try to lure him to her. they called back and forth to each other most of the day. but still no sightings.
on day three they put Lucy out on the porch again, this time she spent the night out there.

next morning there he was! sitting on top of her cage! so they very carefully picked up the cage with him still on top and took it inside. they were then able to put him back inside with his Lucy.
there was joyous greetings, he ate raveonously, and they cuddled for a long nap.
i love happy endings!!!

Thats scary.I'm so glad it worked out. Tell your friend to get a stainless padlock for the cage so nobody can open it unless she is there, then it wont happen again.

You did the first best thing. Putting the cage out and calling at night when it is quiet would have been good but your other little lovie did the calling for you and brought him back.

Awwwww cute story(': .. That bird must really love it's owners. I was sure that the lovebird was gone but I was relieved at the end. Aw!
