Painting Indoors-Is it Hazardous to Parrots

-Hi all,
We need to paint a room or two in our home and need to know if the latex indoor paint is hazardous to our :macaw: :gray: .

Yea don't let them anywhere near. Keep them in the room furthest away from the area your painting for 2 weeks if thats not far get someone else to petsit them for a bit.

I would actually have your parrots live with someone else for two days or so and be sure to use low emissions paint as it is bad for the parrot and you! Paint fumes can linger for quite a while but you can have all the windows and doors open and fans on. Good luck!

Thank you for the information! By boyfriend was thinking that since it is LATEX that it would be okay. I'm glad I asked because I don;t want to take any chances. We are very careful with everything we do.


Can someone also recommend what types of pots and pans you use in your parrot household (brand, etc).

Cast iron pans and pots are the best! Completely safe and great (much better than non-stick) to cook with!
